Heidi spent the happiest days of her childhood with her reclusive grandfather in a simple wooden hut in the Swiss mountains. Together with her friend, Geissepeter, she tends to goats and enjoys the freedom - but the carefree time ends abruptly, as Heidi is taken by her Aunt Dete to Frankfurt.
