What do film ratings mean?
The Films, Videos and Publication’s Act requires all films for public
exhibition to be classified. There are six standard classifications which may
sometimes have a cautionary note attached.

Suitable for general audiences of all ages. |
| • PG |
Younger children may require parental guidance. |
| • M |
Suitable for mature persons over 16 years of age. |
| • R13 |
Restricted to persons over 13 years of age. |
| • R16 |
Restricted to persons over 16 years of age only. |
| • R RP16 |
Restricted to persons over 16 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. |
| • R18 |
Restricted to persons over 18 years of age only. |
Please note that for all Restricted films suitable proof of age will be
required at the Ticket Office to purchase tickets and also to enter the cinema.
It is recommended that a birth certificate, drivers license or photo ID which
displays a date of birth is used as proof of age for restricted films.
